Faith Pocock - Easter Bunny

Hello!  Today I have another project from Faith Pocock Studio just in time to hold all your                                                                              sweet Easter treats

This little fella comes in 6 pieces. I think it would suit even the younger crafter if they wanted to make something for the Easter Bunny to drop his/her eggs into!

I wasn't sure how many packets of eggs to buy... to my delight I had plenty left over after using less than one bag so I could sample the eggs as I made the project!

I covered with neutral woodgrain paper

Glued the head on and filled the eye socket with liquid pearls

I covered the bottom with green paper to reflect grass

I filled in ears, nose and mouth with stickles. These held up well compared to the liquid pearls which seemed to deflate and disappear. So I added a pearl drop in the socket. Cut some whiskers from an old paint brush, added a few flowers and bow, and lastly added any left over eggs I hadn't managed to stuff in my mouth! LOL

Bee Arty - Tags

                                                                   Hello Bee Arty Fans

Who doesnt love tags! Today I am sharing two grungy tags made from a couple different collections but they go together do well

Firstly I had some thick cardboard laying around which I used paper from King of the cave collection.

I tore up the paper and distressed the edges before gluing down

Next I fussy cut the bees and butterflies from Three Six Five paper collection
Coloured them in using copics to match the background paper

Finally I glued them down. To add a bit of more interest to each tag I had some material laying around, so frayed the edges and added these to the tags.
These would make a wonderful addition to any special present instead of a card!

Until next time

Faith Pocock - Frame Drawer

Morning crafty friends, today I have another  Faith Pocock Studio project to share with you

As always - the trick to Faiths projects is unpackage them and lay them out flat, that way if there are a lot of pieces then you get an idea where they go

I started assembling and gluing the drawers first

Then did the same with the main body of the project

At this stage I always walk away. I personally like to let the glue set overnight to save myself any frustration.
Next day I painted drawers, main body and frame in watered down black paint

After all the prep, the fun begins. Choosing paper.... for this project I picked out Stamperia - Mechanical Fantasy.
Tracing and measuring around each area I wanted to cover

For the sides I found a round circle punch the easiest to get a nice round circle

Distress all the edges for that grungy look

Setting everything aside I worked on the frame

TIP: when gluing the boarder of the frame down, only glue the edges like photo, that way you can change the image/photo whenever you want to update it

Insert picture

Attach frame to main body and insert drawers
TIP: if you find drawers are a bit frim to open, just lightly sand the sides and top edge, then rub candle wax over surface

I LOVE anything to do with storage - you can never have enough of it. This now sits on my craft desk full of flowers.
Until next time.. happy crafting

Bee Arty - Own Your Magic

                                                                      Hello Bee Arty Fans

Loved using and layering my last card I made from Follow your Dreams collection, so deciced to play and do another one

I used the same background paper I used several posts ago to show that you can make more than one card with a different look, from paper Embrace from Untangle collection .

I also cut out different sized flowers to colour with copics from Follow your Dreams collection

My favorite thing to do... layering to make them POP

Glued all down on a couple matching background cardstock

Have to love these type of cards... quick, simple and satisfying ...Until next time..

Faith Pocock Studio - Alice in Wonderland Clock + bonus extra project

Morning, today I have a fun quick project using a MDF clock and a bonus project to hold your                                                 stickles and Liquid Pearls in from Faith Pocock Studio.

In this set you get the clock background, the face and the mechanical hands.
I choose Stamperia Alice in Wonderland paper for this project

After gluing down the main background I then fussy cut elements from the paper pack that I wanted for around the edges for a bit of interest, I also traced around the inside of the clock face onto an image I wanted in the center of the clock and distressed around all edges.

For the clock face I stained with vintage photo distress ink to make it pop out, glued it in place then added the mechanical arms.

Because this project had about an hours drying time I decided to make this stickles holder
After assembling and gluing I painted with black chalk paint..... nothing to exciting... the stickles are the star of this project!

I have it placed within easy reach holding my sticklesand pearl drops.
Be warned!!!! Because this holds a amazing amount - 56 in total, you may find you will have to go out and buy more stickles to fill it!!!

Clearly I need to go shopping for more, I have to put extra bottles on top just to fill the space!

Until next time..

Bee Arty - King of the Cave

                                                                     Hello Bee Arty Fans

Im back again for my second post for Bee Arty using King of the Cave collection

OK, I am first to admit I struggle making cards for males... so this was taking me way out of my comfort zone. As I wanted to make 2 cards I choose two focal points - one was the stamp from this collection called Luck. Other I fussy cut the playing hand with cards from sheet called Play the Game

I sorted out matching cardstock to back the cards and stamped on the image straight onto patterned paper

Mounted all the cardstock together

For the stamped card I choose matching copic colours to the paper.
I went easy with the black ball as I still wanted the text to show through

Didn't over think this playing card hand, just gave it a bot of skin colour

Being male cards I distressed around the edges.
Until next time...

Faith Pocock Studio - Tudor House

Today I have a project I want to share using a tutor house from  Faith Pocock Studio.

As I haven't attempted a house from Faith before I lay out all the pieces on the table

I then glued the main part of the house together

Then the roof

I then started to paint. All the detailed pieces that go on the outside I painted black so they would stand out against a pail house

Next I covered the main body of building with gesso before painting in a
very light mint paint which needed 3 layers before I was happy.

Onto the roof! Now... I have seen one of my amazing fellow DT members use popsicle sticks cut up for the roof of these houses... me... noooo I'm way to lazy for that!
Out comes the round circle punch and distress ink!

I selected 4 different shades of plain cardstock and distressed around the edges

I'm thinking it turned out pretty good!

Finished project

But wait there's more!!!.... Faith gave me the idea to use it for all my cards I make..... which is perfect! I am a card maker by nature, I make them but never use them!!! so this house fits them all nice and neat.

I really enjoyed this project knowing that it would have an end purpose.... now... what should I make next ?
Until next time..
