Polkadoodles - Use diecut

Morning, exciting news to tell..... here is my very first Design Team card for Polkadoodles. Yes I am a proud Design Team member along with some other very talented ladies.
Today over at the Polkadoodles Challenge blog we have the challenge of use a die.  I have used elements from the Winnie Fruit Punch CD collection. Pre coloured image called Tree Top, digi paper, embellies (butterflies) and also sentiment. I must admit, I have never used a collection before and I am a convert...I love the amount of images, words, papers and embellies you get! So I hope you jump over to the challenge blog and join us and see what amazing projects the other ladies have made.

Imagine If - Scribble Birds

Hello, today I wanted to share an Art Journal page I have done for a secret Journal swap I am in as it uses a couple stamps and product that Jo has in her shop. And if she hasn't got it ... just ask, she is always so helpful when it comes to sourcing product.

Ok, so I have no step by step pictures for you, but this is an easy layout that anyone could do. First I ripped the two middle pages so that I could paint the black boarder black and splatter with white dots.  The background was coloured with Gelatos. then I sponged ink through a stencil around the edges, stamped Prima Finnabair - Bubbles and used a old credit card with black paint for the lines in background. I also used the caps of various bottles to stamp on circles, which I then coloured in with white Gelato and highlighted with purple.
Next I stamped the birds onto spare card and coloured with copics and then put a layer of Iridescent Medium on them to make them sparkle, then cut them out. I stamped leaves straight onto journal. A few black splatters later and I'm done!

Dylusions - Brancing Out
Finnabair stamp - Bubbles

Imagine If - Birdcage canvas

Hello, today I want to share a canvas I created that has a neat little bird cage on it so its quite a 3d canvas. I just knew I wanted to use the birdcage it was just a matter of putting on my brave face and cutting it in half so it fits flat on the canvas. So first used Gesso on canvas to prime it, then place my chipboard elements on it. As you can see from the photo below I only had a few on it then decided to add more until I was happy, but these were the main elements - Branches, Birdcage and of course those cute little mushrooms.
Before sticking everything down I used circle template and texture paste to give background a little bit of interest. After placing gesso over everything I then mixed up two spray bottles of colour, one using Art Ingredients Mica Powder - Copper and Art Ingredients Mica Powder - Teal.
After spraying colour and allowing time to dry I then sprayed whole canvas with Matte Medium mixed with water to set the colour so it doesn't rub off.
 And a few close ups....

Hope you enjoyed looking at my project and maybe even gave you a little inspiration. Mixed media is so easy and fun to do,,,, if you haven't done canvas I highly recommend you give it a go! Until next time,,, happy crafting. Tracy
