DT Project for Imagine If - Dream

Hi, something a little bit different from me this month for my DT project over at Imagine If. I decided to have a go at doing an art canvas. I am pretty sure this will be the first of many as I now have my daughters friends all wanting one!

I used a lot of elements from Imagine If store which you will be able to see in the next few photos.

 

Firstly I used a brick stencil to add a bit of texture to canvas then arranged my pieces until I was happy then covered everything with Gesso

 

 

 

And then I got to get messy!!! using many layers of Tim Holtz Distress Paint "Walnut Stain", Distress spray stain "Twisted Citron and Ground Expresso" And then finished edges with Distress Ink "Vintage Photo"

I then used my Gelatos to highlight areas. I felt it still needed something else so that's when I added a few embellishments. Here's a couple close ups.

 

 

 

So I really hope you enjoyed my project and it inspired you to get your paints, sprays and stains out!!! Jo has an amazing amount of chipboard to play with the ideas are never ending!

Southern Girls - Anything Goes

Hello... this fortnight over at Southern Girls  we have a nice easy challenge for you ... so no excuses... we like to see ALL paper craft from cards, scrapbooking, mixed media...anything!!! This challenge I have used this beautiful image called Forever my darling from the amazing Heather at Lacy Sunshine. Southern Girls - First challenge of the year

Hi, so this year I will much more time on my hands having both girls at boarding school, so I plan on being a better blogger as 2015 just got away on me and life got busy. So to start the year off, here is the first challenge for 2016 over at Southern Girls - theme - One for the Girls. I have created a Art Journal page using an All Dressed Up image called Party Frock. Imagine If - Journal Page

 Today I would like to share with you my latest Art Journal project for Imagine If. Below is a picture of all the product I used, although I decided only to use the one piece of patterned paper.

So in the picture below you can see the patterned paper I used along with 3 different stencils from Imagine If. They are so much fun, I could sit for hours playing with these! To make them pop out a bit more instead of fading into the background I used my black pen to go around outside. I still wasn't happy with it so in the following finished page you will see I also used black around the edges of the Dianmond Stencil.

Ok, before I started playing with the background I had put aside all my chipboard pieces and painted black ready for when background was dry. To finish off I doodled around the edges. I love how this page turned out.

New Challenge.. and do you want to be a Southern Girl???

So.... there are a couple things going on over at Southern Girls Challenges this fortnight. First off is out new fortnightly challenge...this challenge we would love to see twine, tape or ribbon on your projects. We are looking for some fresh faces on our DT due to some of our ladies stepping down at the end of this year.

The term would start in January.

The team is split into 2 groups which means 1 project per month.
If you choose to make a card you will usually be provided a digi image from our sponsor to use.
We welcome scrapbookers, cardmakers, altered artists, mixed media, pocket scrapbookers, art journalers, in fact all types of papercrafting.

We correspond on facebook so you would need to have a facebook account and a blog or public facebook account which you can post the challenges and your projects to.

Imagine If - DT projects

 Hello - so once again I have neglected this blog. I really think its because everyone is using Facebook these days to show their projects. But anyhoo... here are my two projects I made for October for Imagine If.

Above is an Art Journal page using stencils and chipboard from my DT stash. Imagine If do all their own stencils and chipboard, and if you want anything I am sure if they haven't got it then Jo's daughter who designs them will knock something up for you.

 

Below is my second project - the cover of another Art Journal. I must say it was a bit of trial and error trying to put chipboard through my grand calibur!!! But I did it!!!
