Bee Arty - Bee Happy

Good morning Bee Arty fans...

Today I have a card I wanted to share using this stunning stamp called Forever Always

As with any cards I make I always pick out the paper first and base my colours around that.
So for inspiration I picked out a sheet from the Love and Grace paper collection

The following photos gives you an idea of the colouring sequence I tend to use. Although I would normally do the skin in any image first I was quite keen to start on the flowers.
I used copics as my basic background the prisma pencils to highlight.

All red and blue spaces filled - time for the yellow daises

And finally the skin and hair.
Time to fussy cut

At this stage I inked all around the edges of the lady, cut all my paper layers, and because her face will take up the majority of the card face I felt it didn't need any embellishments
I also for "Bee Happy" in the Love and Grace collection to use for my words

Finally I placed all together.
I really enjoyed losing myself in this card while colouring her. Its the sort of image that calls for a lot of colouring but you will be rewarded with the end result

Until next time... Happy crafting

Goodbye from myself and Lou - Southern Girls Challenges

So this is goodbye from us here at Southern Girls!
For our last post we are joined by a few of our past DT lovelies and our present team.

Myself and Lou started Southern Girls Challenges 10 years ago. Wow where did the time go? Its been filled with amazing ladies who have joined us on the Design Teams, who have become wonderful friends that have stuck with us through all the ups and downs of life over the last 10 years.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, with any luck the NZ ladies will all meet up very soon for a few wines.... ok, maybe more than a few, but ready to make a wonderful memory with you all to toast amazing friendships created on Southern Girls

Thanks for everything!!!!

Children Learning English Affectively: Great ways to say goodbye ...

As for myself and Lou - nothing will change - even though we are a 4 hours drive from each other, we will still have our crafty afternoons through messenger. I am so lucky to have this special lady in my life that has supported me in all my decisions.

I will now have time to just sit relax and create. I will still share my creations on here and Instagram to hopefully provide inspiration to others. Enjoy the little things and celebrate the big things.

Be sure to check out all the media links and say a final goodbye to all the lovely DT past and present that have joined in over at Southern Girls one last time :)

Hold on tight card - Colour of Love

OK so this card was made for Southern Girls challenges but since myself and Lou have decided to call it quits after 10 years -  to create with mages we love - not have time frames - to not be chained to computer organising sponsors (although they were all lovely)

I have used an images from the wonderful Heather over at Colour of Love.
This image I coloured a while ago but had never made it as far as creating a card. SO glad I did, shes a real cutie. For more cute images hope over to Colour of Love store and check it out

Bee Arty - Fly High, Dream Big

Good morning Bee Arty fans...

Today I want to show you a card that I have used many stamps from 5 different Bee Arty Stamp Sets!

For this card I wanted to add a bit more detail to the flower set from Floral Delights 1.
So firstly I stamps a background stamp from Textiles Stamp Set. At this stage I really didnt have a clear idea on how many flowers I wanted so just stamped a few extra.

Next I stamped the 3 different sizes of flowers from Floral Delights 1

At this stage I could have coloured them in with Bee Arty Colour Artists Inks, but decided to fussy cut first and put them to the side - confession time... I still had no idea in mind on what I was doing!

This next stage is when an idea started to form.
Firstly I selected two Artist Ink colours - Lime and Spice. splattered them both on a card and added some water at top to make it run down and around the edges.
Next I selected 3 stamps for the boarders from Confidential Stamp set and stamped these with Archival Ink

I just had to add the Bee stamp from Make Me Happy Stamp set.
Then mounted card face on black cardstock to make it "pop"
I then coloured the flowers in the same colours as the background using the Artist Inks and watercolour pen

Finally before placing all together I felt like something was missing - there was too much space on the background for me, so I added the wire stamp from Life Is Tough Stamp Set
I also stamped another bee - fussy cut, coloured in copics then stuck down on top of stamped image. I

Finally happy and all glued down I mounted onto a white card.
I added some stickles to wings of bee and white pen to highlight flowers.

This was a real mix and match card using all those different stamp sets, if it works why not? Your only limited by your own imagination
Until next time... Happy crafting
